From the Director: Our Commitment to Digital Safety

At Kasson-Mantorville Public Schools, we provide our students with robust opportunities to interact with modern digital tools. While technology is a powerful mechanism to improve learning, instruction, and student achievement, our absolute highest priority is ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant digital environment. The Information Technology department is aggressively committed to protecting our digital infrastructure and safeguarding stakeholder data. By implementing rigorous cybersecurity measures, facilitating responsible technology use, and enforcing strict data privacy standards, we empower our users while actively mitigating digital risks.

Technology Department Core Responsibilities

Our department maintains full oversight of the district's technology landscape to ensure security and operational continuity, including:

Securing network infrastructure, data encryption, and district printing
Managing and monitoring staff-issued devices and desktop hardware
Maintaining and auditing cart-based student Chromebooks and devices
Overseeing secure student information systems and vetted software programs

Student Data Privacy & Compliance

Kasson-Mantorville Public Schools strictly adheres to state and federal data privacy laws. We comprehensively vet all technology vendors and software applications before they enter our classrooms to ensure they meet our stringent security benchmarks as we prepare students for an ever-changing world.

Curriculum & Assessment Inventory

In compliance with transparency regulations, we maintain an active inventory of our approved curriculum, testing, and assessment tools. This public ledger outlines the specific student data elements collected within each tool and is updated annually at the start of the school year.
